Course Outline

Psychology is the study of human behaviour. It is a fascinating and challenging subject, which appeals to both scientists and non-scientists.

In this course you will learn about the different areas of psychology and how they relate to each other. You will be able to appreciate the scientific nature of psychology through practical experiments and tests and gain a holistic understanding of the subject through engaging in contemporary psychology debates.

Entry Requirements

6 GCSEs at Grade C or above. The course involves writing essays and carrying out statistical tests. Therefore these GCSEs must include:
• Grade B in English
• Grade B in Mathematics
• BB in double award GCSE science or BBB triple award GCSE science.

Assessment

100% examination with the opportunity to complete AS and A2 modular exams in January and June of each year.

Progression

Psychology combines well with many subjects including Media, Sociology, Biology and PE. It is relevant for a wide range of careers including those in the health services, caring professions, police and social services, as well as in business, education, advertising and the media.
