Course Outline

This course is for students with an interest in ICT who would like to explore the possibilities of a career in this field.

This course is designed to teach you IT skills including PC systems, popular office software, digital devices and how these are used in a work context. You will also learn about different IT jobs and the skills and qualities needed for them, evaluating your personal skills, and managing money using budgeting skills.

You will use a range of popular office packages to create a variety of documents and a range of digital devices and explore the impact of these in a work context.

Entry Requirements

You should have successfully completed an entry level course or have GCSEs at Grades E to G, and have an interest in ICT.

Assessment

Units will be assessed by internal assignments verified by Edexcel.

Progression

When you successfully complete this diploma, you can progress to A-level 2 qualification such as the BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners (either Systems or General pathway) or an equivalent Level 2 course in any other subject.
